Interim cover · while the role is open

Your marketplace manager starts in three months. Your catalogue needn't wait.

You have the budget signed off and the advert live. What you do not have, for the next two to three months, is anyone to do the work. We cover the gap: the catalogue goes up in a fortnight and is handed to your new hire documented, not inherited as a mess.

The maths you already know

The vacancy is the expensive part, not the salary.

A permanent marketplace manager costs £45,000–55,000 a year fully loaded. That number is understood and budgeted. The number nobody budgets is the two to three months before they start, when the catalogue simply does not move.

Fully loaded salary £45k–55k / year Signed off, and correctly so — this is a role you want filled.
Time to hire 2–3 months Advert, shortlist, interviews, notice period.
Catalogue progress in that window nil Demand carries on regardless. Competitors keep listing.

What interim cover is

We are not competing with the hire. We are the fortnight before it.

01

The catalogue goes up

Copy written against real UK search demand, images to marketplace specification, A+ modules on the lines that carry the range, product data filed and validation errors cleared. Two weeks, not two quarters.

02

The channel is run in the meantime

Listings maintained, errors resolved, advertising kept honest and reported on monthly. Nothing is left to drift while the seat is empty.

03

Your hire inherits a system, not a mess

At handover: documented processes, the flat-file templates, the keyword sets behind each listing, and a written account of what was changed and why. Their first week is spent improving the channel rather than reconstructing it.

04

And then we step back

The engagement ends when your person starts. If you would rather keep a pair of hands on the catalogue afterwards, that becomes a support retainer — but it is a choice, not the plan.

What it costs

Published, so you can put it next to the salary line.

Interim cover £1,500–3,000 / month Full cover for the open role: catalogue build, channel management, monthly reporting. Typically two to three months.
Support retainer, afterwards £500–1,500 / month Optional. Advertising, reporting and catalogue maintenance alongside your new hire.
Catalogue work, priced per SKU instead from £10 / SKU If you would rather buy the build outright than cover the role, the standard price list applies.

A fixed monthly fee, with scope and terms agreed in writing before the first month. Prices exclude VAT.

Next step

Send the job advert and your catalogue.

Within 48 hours you get a fixed monthly price, a two-week plan for the catalogue, and five to ten of your own SKUs rebuilt and ready to file — free, so you are judging finished work rather than a proposal.
